The first ever Baby Steps Mini Session Event is here!

The Halloween Mini-Session Event will take place October 3rd-5th. Appointments are booked in 30 minute intervals (10 minutes for prep and 20 minutes of shooting time), starting at 3:30pm. A signed contract and a $50 non-refundable retainer will reserve your session. In true Baby Steps style, these sessions are for children 12 months of age and younger. Limit one child per session. Images from each session will be ready to view online in a password-protected gallery by Thursday, October 7th.

There are only 6 timeslots available for each day, so make sure you book your session soon!

After almost 10 years together, Chuck popped the question during their Myrtle Beach vacation… and I had the honor of taking their first professional photos together. This couple is so fab, they deserved to be introduced with a photo!

Meet Christina and Mark, who are getting married in New York next spring. We did their engagement session during my trip north last week, and the sky could not have been more perfect! The Beacon Riverfront has always been one of my favorite places to visit, so I was super excited when Christina chose it as her location. And of course, I knew we were meant for each other when I saw her shoes!

Baby Luna | Newborn Session | Myrtle Beach, SC

Here is the very first newborn to be added to the Baby Steps by Crystal Lee family… her name is Luna, and she is 10 days old.

After doing my first official newborn session for the new branch of the business, I am even more excited for this program to launch… just 4 more weeks to go! Remember folks, I am doing free model sessions in exchange for a signed model release from now until September 1st to build up a portfolio of images for the website and my other advertisements, so spread the word if you know someone with a baby under 12 months old. Renae & Nathan | Engagement | Myrtle Beach, SC

The day of Renae & Nathan’s photoshoot, Mother Nature decided to play a few tricks on us… it rained, then it stopped. Then it rained some more, then it stopped. Then, thankfully, she gave us about 45 minutes of shoot time under a perfectly overcast sky before releasing a massive thunderstorm. The timing could not have worked out any better! Anyone who knows me knows that my career in photography started at a small retail portrait studio in New York. As chaotic and cookie-cutter as it was, it taught me a lot about portrait photography and the ins and outs of running a business. My absolute favorite sessions were those with babies under 1 year old… that is where I did my best studio work. With that in mind… after much debate and consideration, I have decided to add a new branch to my business.

When I needed an excuse to play around with my new flash setup, I knew my sister was the perfect candidate for the experiment! (Love ya, Sis!) For months we’ve been talking about doing a photoshoot of her in some sort of ‘jungle’ theme with her snake, named Queen Loenidas. The problem? There is nothing ‘jungle-like’ in Myrtle Beach… there are barely any trees! So we decided to use the farmers corn field behind her house, and this is what we came up with!

Both images shot at 24mm at f/10, 1/250 and ISO 200. Flash at +3 compensation, triggered by the new PocketWizards.

I absolutely love a sky full of fluffy white clouds.
